Historique :	Il s'agirait d'un clou de la Passion trouvé par sainte Hélène, et donné à son fils Constantin, qui l'aurait fondu pour en faire un mors. Cette relique, qui aurait été rapportée de Constantinople au 9e siècle, fut plus tard transportée de Saint-Gilles d'Arles à Chamalières, puis fut déposée vers 1830 au Trésor d'Art religieux du cloître au Puy. Elle était autrefois contenue dans une châsse du 15e siècle aux armes du vicomte de Polignac, aujourd'hui disparue.
