Historique :	Ce tableau est attribué suivant les auteurs à Guy François ou à Jean François. L'attribution à Guy François aurait pu être quasiment certaine s'il n'y avait pas eu les armes d'Armand de Béthune qui fût évêque du Puy à partir de 1662, soit douze années après la mort de Guy François. Mais il est également possible que les armes aient été rajoutées. La facture du tableau apparaît également maladroite et certains n'y reconnaissent pas la main de Guy François mais plutôt celle de Jean François, plus coutumier des empâtements excessifs, mais cette toile a subi de fortes retouches qui faussent la qualité du tableau. L'attribution de cette oeuvre reste donc discutée.
